Onsite discovery, site audit with client, defined problem space, competitive research, wireframing and, finally, visual design.
MY ROLE
User Research, Content Strategy, Information Architecture, Interaction Design, UI Design, Visual Design. I was the sole designer on the project.


Research

Audit of their existing site. Objectives: understanding their product, understanding their content needs, understaing their functional needs.

Onsite discovery with client. We conducted a stakeholder seminar. We learned about their business. We combined stakeholder interviews with a site audit and some competitive analysis.

Competitive Analysis. I returned to New York with a competitive set. I did a deeper analysis of these sites.

Ideation
Team Ideation. Design (me), the PM and the lead developer, reviewed our research and then developed a strategy: focus on blocks of content not pages, create blocks that can be used on any page, these blocks include bold CTAs that point to collection page or product page.
