BRIEF
There was no brief per se, just a rolling set of problems to solve from week to week. And these problems were generated from building an MVP, delivering it to our clients and learning. And then rapidly iterating.
When I started with Constrafor they were still looking for product market fit. I helped them pivot. I worked primarily on the product. But I also designed their marketing site.
Project Overview
TIMELINE
6 months
TEAM
Kevin Regan, Tony Guarisco, Anwar Ghauche, Lara Chikhani
This was an early stage start up so I worked with everyone. The hierarchy was flat. But the above people are who I primarily worked with. One is the CEO, another is a VP of Sales and the last was another UX designer.
DELIVERABLES
Research, Ideation, Strategy, Wireframes
TOOLS
Figma, XD, Photoshop, Illustrator
PROCESS
Projects were initiated through conversations with the CEO and one of the VP of Sales. Both of whom talked directly to clients. We would discuss the problem. We used Figma as our white board room. We would ideate there. I would then complete all thoughts with finished wires. We would review with devs, hand off and they would build. And then we'd collect feedback from our clients. It was a true agile and MVP approach.
MY ROLE
Research, Strategy, Concept Development, Information Architecture, Interaction Design, UX Design, UI Design

START UP AGILE

I collaborated with two stakeholders: the CEO and the VP of Sales. I would white board with them in Figma — we were all remote — to understand the problem and explore solutions.

I would move rapidly from white boarding to wireframes that I could review with and then hand off to development.

Development built MVPs. They were tested and deployed rapidly to our customers. And then the CEO, VP and everyone who had client relationships would gather feedback. And then we could iterate. It was truly agile design and dev.

Wireframes
When I worked for Constrafor it was a start up still seeking product market fit. It's high level pitch was bringing digital transformation to the construction industry, starting with New York City. I helped them pivot towards a focus on invoicing and an early pay feature for invoices. But, that said, I worked on all parts of the product. Below are a few examples.

MARKETING SITE Designs
One of the things I loved about working at Constrafor was that I worked on whatever needed to be worked on. My primary focus was UX design. But I was also a design team of 1. Below are some visual designs I created for Constrafor's marketing site. I worked with the CEO on this content.

Branding EXPERIMENTS
The CEO wanted to give branded t-shirts, hoodies and mugs as gifts for the holiday. I personally dislike branded clothing. A mug, maybe... But nevertheless, my thought was, how can I make this interesting. How can I make using the logo interesting? So my idea was a series of op ed art experiments using the Constrafor logo. The idea is based on the idea of bitmapped graphics. But I also wanted it to allude to team diagrams of some sort. My hope was that something interesting might come of this experimental approach that we could use for the schwag.
